We call this pretentious and pompous hop variety Bombastic because of the extraordinary amount of growth and flavour it produces. With 6cm cones and a strong aroma of passionfruit and white wine grapes, the palate of Fantastic Bombastic gives way to a complex blend of passionfruit, blackberry, ginger, lime, melon and sauvignon blanc. Exotique has big Peach, Pear and Floral aroma on the nose followed by Peach, Blueberry, Pear, Kiwi Fruit on the palate with hints of Lime and Honey. We use this hop in our XPA's and New World Pilsners.

Purple Haze is named for it's deep purple bine and massive growth habit. In a beer it has soft bittering and gives the impression of lime sherbet with floral & spice undertones. We make a lager with Purple Haze hop cones that tastes fresh and refreshing just like your favourite Mexican or Japanese lager or Steinlager with a bit of attitude. It is also useful hot side for making West Coast Pilsners and Hazy IPA's.

American Pie is a unique and usual hop creating flavours similar to apple pie with Apple, Clove, Berries and Tangelo. While American Pie is useful addition to a brewer's toolkit for making Belgian ales, in German wheat beers that require the clove flavour for authenticity and also in making hoppy ciders.

Fresh & clean with soft bitterness and spice, Mellow Yellow is the perfect hop for a summer lager maybe in the Mexican Cerveza style. Low alpha hops like this are also useful in the boil when making West Coast Pilsner and Hazy IPA see link below.

Limealicious is an abundant grower with lime green leaves and hops that give a subtle Lime flavour and soft bittering along with Rockmelon, Lychee and green gooseberry. Subtle floral aromas and flavours complete the picture offering elderflower and apple blossom. SOLD OUT FOR CURRENT SEASON
Passion fruit, gooseberry, peach, and lime flavours abound. Due to its complex hop oil profile Nelson Sauvin™ can work its magic as an aroma hop, a flavour hop or even for bittering. Ideal for American style Pale Ales and IPA's with punchy hoppy character.
Riwaka™ has abundant oil content nearly twice that of its parent variety Saaz. This unique oil balance alongside a near 1:1 ratio of alpha to beta acids gives it a strong sweet citrus note that, according to some brewers, makes it the “ultimate” for hoppy beers, pale ale & lagers.
Motueka is a premier New Zealand hop bred from Saaz and lends itself well to Lagers, Pilsners and Belgian Ales. It makes an excellent dual-use hop, carrying an exciting fruit aroma with refreshing notes of tropical fruit and citrus and works well in sweet, malty and fruity beers.
Pacifica™ is an versatile aroma hop that is typically used in late boil additions, including dry hopping. Pacifica™ has aroma descriptors that include a signature citrus orange zest marmalade & classic Hallertau characteristics with some floral notes & honey. Moderate and highly pleasant. Pacifica is often used by Eddyline Brewery for a Fresh Hop Pilsner.
MOTHER: UNKNOWN | FATHER: MONHOPOLY MALE STOCK Experimental hop with tropical fruit flavours of pineapple, apricot and cream. Tropadelic® is excellent used late in the boil and at flame out. Works well in blonde and golden ales making a refreshing beer for drinking in Summer or anytime.

A NZ cultivar bred from Cascade with a complex flavour and massive growth with a large yield of hop cones early in the harvest season. By far the best hop we grow for yield and flavour.
Perle is the most popular aroma hop in Germany with its floral, spice & pepper elements. It is especially suited to sessionable Lagers (Helles), Pilsners, Festbier, Pale Ale and other styles where high bitterness would be inappropriate. Over 3000 hectares are grown.
This NZ hop imparts the flavours of lemongrass, watermelon, nectarine & green tea with a slightly dank cannabis flavour. Fathead works well in Blonde, Golden & Pale ales. Strong grower with massive amounts of large hop cones.
Wakatu is a New Zealand triploid hop bred from Hallertauer Mittelfrüher and a New Zealand male. A nicely balanced oil profile gives it a floral aroma on top of pungent fresh lime. Wakatu can be added at any stage of the boil and dry hopped with success. It has been noted for its impressive flavor stability. Wakatu is very popular in the USA for Hazy IPA & Lagers
Rakau, or AlphAroma as it was previously known, was developed in New Zealand. Rakau features a high concentration of myrcene which enables it to pair beautifully with dry-hopped West Coast American IPA and East Coast Hazy IPA. Used by Garage Project in "Sunrise Valley Hazy IPA" & Hop Federation Brewery in "Rakau IPA" and many others.
The vastly underrated Mount Hood is an American bred cultivar made available by Plant & Food Research, Motueka. Mount Hood imparts a flavor “punch” of floral, spice. lime, cantaloupe with some woody undertones. Famously used in Lager & Dark ales. We also use it in Pale ale. Produces a large hop crop & is a robust grower.
Popular USA hop used by Garage Project, Liberty brings floral & spice, citrus & rose when used late in the kettle. Sister of Mount Hood made available by Plant & Food Research Motueka for home brewers to grow and enjoy. Use in an IPA blend for a citrus zing. Use also in Lagers and Pale ales
A proprietry NZ cultivar and beautiful plant with a prolific hop yield of large hop cones. Add to Pale Ale & IPA hop blends & use as a late addition in a Pilsner or Hazy IPA.
The classic American hop saved from oblivion and made famous by Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Accounts for 17% of all hops grown in the USA
The quintessential English hop for ales and pale ales. Golding has an aroma profile of lavender, spice, honey and thyme. Flavor is spicy, earthy with a honey-like and marmalade character
The mother of Cascade, Williamette, Citra, the quintisential English hop used in most English Pale Ales, IPA's, Porters & Stouts. Still in demand for brewing & breeding new hops.
NZ heritage variety used in Steinlager Classic, Speight's Triple Hop Pilsner, Speight's Distinction Amber Ale, Speight's Mid Ale. Also used in the USA & Europe for IPA and Pale Ale.
Styrian Golding hops have a peppery spice with an earthy/sweet edge. Styrian Golding, also known as Styrian Celeia, is one of the world's most renowned hop varieties due to its special aroma characteristics and great alpha values. Works well in Belgian and English ales.
Bred from a European hop found growing in a Canterbury garden and crossed with Tangerine Dream, Golden Daze II® has lime leaves which turn gold when grown in full sun. The hop cones can be used for brewing. Needs regular fertiliser and water to look it's best.
Wild Thing is one of a series of wild hops that have appeared in our hop garden grown from a seed that has either fallen from the cones or been blown or scattered by the Nor'west wind. Wild Thing was selected for it's robust growth habit, decorative dark green foliage and very large cones making it perfect for ornamental use. The cones can be used in the brewing of beer.

Limealicious is an abundant grower with lime green leaves and the hops give a pronounced lime flavour to a beer which is not surprising because it is bred from Motueka which is known for it's lime flavour. Limealicious is also useful as a decorative hop.
