MELLOW YELLOWTM

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: NZ
ALPHA 6.5%-7.0%
FLORAL / SPICE / LIME ZEST / RIESLING GRAPE / RIPE GOOSEBERRY
MELLOW YELLOWTM is a registered trademark of Wild About Hops NZ

FLAVOUR:
MELLOW YELLOW® has a spicy aroma. It is useful any time during the brewing process but is more favorable for late additions or dry hopping when making a lager. If you are making a West Coast Pilsner or a Hazy IPA use MELLOW YELLOW® throughout the boil to achieve a soft bittering charge. Add your American hops as a dry hop.  The flavour is noble & mellow with a background of lime zest, with floral, spice and fresh Riesling grape and ripe gooseberry.

HISTORY:
MELLOW YELLOW® was grown from a Hallertauer Hersbrucker seed brought to NZ by German immigrants last century and is named for the subtle spice, floral and soft bitterness that is part of the MELLOW YELLOW® flavour profile.

Hallertau grown hops have a very long history in German lagers, pilsners and wheat beers. Their aromatic and flavor properties help to describe generations of beers from the area. The Hallertau varieties are considered noble hops which refers to their high amounts of humulene, low amounts of alpha acids and high aromatic qualities.

GROWTH/YIELD:
MELLOW YELLOW® is an bright green aromatic hop with an alpha acid rating at 5%-6%.

MELLOW YELLOW® retains all of the characteristics of Hallertauer Mittelfrüh (middle early) and apart from a slightly higher alpha it is virtually indistinguishable from it.

MELLOW YELLOW® is a very vigorous hardy grower with medium cones and is suitable for growing over arbours if required.
