FLAVOUR:
American Pie is a unique and usual hop creating flavours similar to apple pie with apple, clove, berries and tangelo. American Pie lends itself to a wide range of styles where it can be used in a pilsner style or golden ale as well as a German Hefe Weiss (Wheat beer), Belgian ales and Saison. Not only is it useful for beer but it would also work in small amounts as an addition as a dry hop in a hoppy cider. 

HISTORY:
American Pie was grown from seed from a female Riwaka and pollinated by a Tangerine Dream male.

GROWTH / YIELD:
Strong grower with fat 5cm cones that are easy to pick.

Mash in @ 35°C for 10 mins to release ferulic acid
50°C for 10 minutes (protein rest)
55°C for 15 minutes (protein rest)
62°C for 10 minutes (beta amylase rest)
68°C for 20 minutes (alpha amylase rest)
72°C for 20 minutes (degrade beta amylase)
78°C for 5 minutes (degrade alpha amylase)
