FLAVOUR:
We call this pretentious and pompous hop variety Bombastic because of the extraordinary amount of growth and flavour it produces. With 6cm cones and a strong aroma of passionfruit and white wine grapes, the palate gives way to a complex blend of passionfruit, blackberry, ginger, lime, melon and sauvignon blanc on the palate. Very fruity indeed.

HISTORY:
Bred by Monhopoly in Eyrewell North Canterbury, the mother plant is Riwaka crossed with a Nelson Sauvin male.

GROWTH / YIELD:
Medium to large 6 cm hop cones on a vigourous bine maturing mid season. Easy to pick.

NOTES:
At almost 5% ABV, Tetley Pale Ale was way stronger than most of the draught beers available in 1945. You were lucky to find anything over 3.5% ABV.
